India inked MoUs with six countries in – International Civil Aviation Negotiations
India signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six countries which are : Oman and Ethiopia, Norway and Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kenya and Sweden.
The agreements were signed during International Civil Aviation Negotiations (ICAN) 2015, which was held in Antalya, Turkey.

India’s GSAT-15 communication satellite launched successfully
India’s GSAT-15 was launched successfully by the European Ariane 5 VA-227 launch vehicle.
GSAT-15 has a weight of 3164 kilogram which carries communication transponders in Ku-band along with the GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) payload.
After Arabsat-6B (BADR-7) (its co-passenger) was injected into space, the GSAT-15 was launched into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
Who is the new UN refugee chief – Italian diplomat Filippo Grandi
Italian diplomat Filippo Grandi was appointed as the new UN refugee chief as announced by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
He has replaced Antonio Guterres, of Portugal, who was UN High Commissioner for Refugees since 2005.
Abraham M Keita from Liberia won the 2015 International Children’s Peace Prize
Liberian teenager Abraham M Keita was on 10 November 2015 awarded with the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize 2015.
He was awarded for his extraordinary and peaceful fight for justice for child victims of physical or sexual violence, and for successfully campaigning for the Liberian parliament to adopt the Children’s Law.

I S Jha has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of State-run transmission utility Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL).

Former RBI Deputy Governor Subir Gokarn was appointed as an Executive Director on the board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Who has been elected as Vice-Chairman on BIS Board – Dr Raghuram Rajan
Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Dr Raghuram Rajan was elected as the Vice-Chairman on the Board of Directors of BIS.
He is the first Indian to be elected to this position in the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
BIS is the world’s oldest international financial organisation established on 17th May 1930.
Sameer Panda-led Indian team won NASA award for Burst Prevention & Puncture Curative technology
A team of Indian scientist led by Sameer Panda from Odisha on 6 November 2015 won the NASA award for an innovative technology named Burst Prevention & Puncture Curative (BPPC) technology.
Udit Bondia, KN Panda and Smitiparna Satpathy are the other members of the team.
