Dilip Kumar gets Padma Vibhushan award
दिलीप कुमार को पद्म विभूषण पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया
Legendary actor Dilip Kumar was today presented the Padma Vibhushan by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the thespian’s residence in suburban Bandra.
Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, were among other dignitaries present at the actor’s home when he received the award.
Diesel-run vehicles were banned by NGT in – Delhi
NGT has ordered to ban on registration of new diesel-run vehicles in Delhi to curb the growing menace of air pollution. NGT bench headed by Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar ordered this ban.
Important to mention here that ban on registration of new diesel vehicles will be valid till 6th January 2016 as interim steps i.e. till the next date of hearing of NGT on Delhi pollution.
UNESCO designated Varanasi and Jaipur as members of Creative Cities Network
Two Indian cities, Varanasi and Jaipur, on 11 December 2015 have made it to the Creative City Network of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the first time ever. Varanasi and Jaipur made it to the network in the categories, City of Music and City of Crafts and Folk Art respectively.

भारत के दो शहरों वाराणसी एवं जयपुर को संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षिक, वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन (यूनेस्को) द्वारा पहली बार क्रिएटिव सिटीज़ नेटवर्क में शामिल किया गया है|
यूनेस्को के महानिदेशक इरीना बोकोवा ने 33 देशों के 47 शहरों को यूनेस्को के नये क्रिएटिव सिटीज़ नेटवर्क के सदस्य के रूप में घोषित किया है|
Renowned agro-economist Sharad Joshi passes away
प्रख्यात कृषि अर्थशास्त्री शरद जोशी का निधन हो गया
Renowned agro-economist and veteran leader of farmers Sharad Anantrao Joshi passed away in Pune, Maharashtra. He was 81.
He was founder of Shetakari Sanghtana (farmers’ Organisation) an NGO dedicated to the cause of farmers in Maharashtra.
Who is the new chairman of SAIL – Prakash Kumar Singh
After remaining headless for over three months, state-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) on Thursday got a new chairman in 57-year-old Prakash Kumar Singh.
The task of the new chairman would be daunting considering the current state of affairs of the industry and the company which has reported a net loss for the first two quarters of the current fiscal and is set to report a net loss after a gap of 13 years.
पीके सिंह सेल के चेयरमैन नियुक्त किए गए
भारतीय इस्पात प्राधिकरण (स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इण्डिया लिमिटेड) सेल के चेयरमैन के रूप में 57 वर्षीय पीके सिंह ने कार्यभार संम्भाल लिया है| इससे पहले वे दुर्गापुर इस्पात संयंत्र में वर्ष 2012 से बतौर मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी कार्यरत थे|
India and which country sign deals on bullet train, defence, civil nuclear energy- Japan
Taking their robust bilateral ties to a new level, India and Japan on Saturday inked a number of pacts in key areas of defence and nuclear energy as well as building of first bullet train network between Mumbai-Ahmedabad at a cost of about Rs 98,000 crore.
The strategic pacts were inked after the summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe during which they also discussed international and regional issues of mutual importance including UN security reforms.

Salman Rushdie honoured with Mailer Prize for Lifetime Achievement
India-born author Salman Rushdie was awarded the prestigious Mailer Prize for lifetime achievement. American experimental performance artist Laurie Anderson presented the award to Rushdie at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York City.
The prestigious Mailer Prize honours writers who fully exercise their freedom of creativity and thrive on dialogue and debate.

भारत में जन्में लेखक सलमान रुश्दी को लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट के लिए प्रख्यात मेलर प्राइज़ से सम्मानित किया गया है| अमेरिकन आर्टिस्ट लौरी एंडरसन ने रुश्दी को न्यूयॉर्क स्थित ब्रुकलिन के प्रैट इंस्टिट्यूट में सम्मानित किया है|
