Who has won Israel Prize for Religious Studies for Research on India – David Shulman
The prestigious Israel Prize for Religious Studies was awarded to renowned Ideologist Professor David Shulman for his breakthrough research into the literature and culture of southern India.
He is considered as one of the world’s foremost authorities on the languages of India. He has researched in field of Dravidian linguistics, Indian poetics, the history of religion in South India, Carnatic music and Tamil Islam.

India-Nepal Combined Military Exercise Surya Kiran IX begins at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand
The 9th edition of India-Nepal Combined Military Exercise Surya Kiran IX has commenced at Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. It will culminate on February 21, 2015.
In this edition, Indian Army is being represented by Infantry Battalion while from Nepalese Army, officers and troops of the elite Shree Rudra Dhoj Battalion are participating. During Surya Kiran IX, both armies will focus on upgradation of practical and tactical skills by sharing each other’s experiences. They will also focus on enhancing interoperability in Counter Terrorism and Jungle Warfare operations in mountain terrain.

India’s 1st Aviation Park to Come Up In Gujarat
भारत का प्रथम विमानन पार्क गुजरात में बनाया जाएगा
The state government has planned to set up the country’s first-ever Aviation Park in Gujarat near Bagodara village in Ahmadabad to strengthen the aviation sector.
State government has given this task to Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) to carry out the project.
राज्य सरकार को विमानन क्षेत्र को मजबूत करने के लिए अहमदाबाद में बागोडारा गांव के पास गुजरात में देश की पहली एविएशन पार्क स्थापित करने के लिए योजना बनाई है।
राज्य सरकार ने इस परियोजना के लिए बाहर ले जाने के लिए गुजरात राज्य उड्डयन इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर कंपनी लिमिटेड को यह काम दिया गया है।
Angelique Kerber wins 2016 Australian Open Title of Tennis
Angelique Kerber from Germany has won the 2016 Australian Open Title of Tennis in the women’s singles category. It was her maiden Grand Slam Tennis title. In the final match played at Melbourne, Australia she defeated defending champion Serena Williams (World No. 1) in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 score. With this win, Kerber became the first German women tennis player to win a major Grand Slam Tennis title since Steffi Graf in 1999.

ISRO’ PSLV-C29 successfully launched 6 Singapore satellites into space
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched 6 satellites of Singapore into Space. The satellites were launched using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C29 from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikotta in Andhra Pradesh.
With the present launch, ISRO has put into orbits 57 foreign satellites belonging to 20 countries successfully. Significantly, the list of countries includes scientifically advanced countries like the USA, the UK, France and Germany among others.

These books give comprehensive information about the country and various States and Union Territories including functioning of the Government and the economy.
It also provides detailed information on various schemes and projects of Government and its various departments.

वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने India 2016 और भारत 2016 नामक किताब लांच की।
इस दौरान उन्होंने कहा कि यह किताब न सिर्फ राजनीतिज्ञों के लिए जानकारी से भरी है बल्कि छात्र, पत्रकारों के लिए भी उतनी ही उपयोगी है।
वित्त मंत्री जेटली ने कहा कि इस किताब के अंदर भारत सरकार की कई योजनाओं और उनके क्रियान्वयन की जानकारी समाहित की गई है।
Lyricist Sameer Anjaan Enters Guinness Book Of World Records
Bollywood’s popular lyricist Sameer Anjaan has made into the Guinness Book of World Records this year.
He was rewarded for writing the most number of songs for Bollywood films. The official record states that Sameer wrote 3,524 songs for 650 Bollywood movies, as verified on December 15, 2015.
गीतकार समीर अंजान ने बनाया वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड
बॉलीवुड के जाने माने गीतकार समीर अंजान का नाम सबसे अधिक गीत लिखने के लिए गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड की किताब में दर्ज हो गया है।समीर पिछले तीन दशक से फिल्मों में सक्रिय हैं। समीर की सफलता का राज है उनके लिखे अनगिनत हिट गाने। समीर ने 30 साल के सफर में करीब 650 फिल्मों में 4000 से भी ज्यादा गाने लिखे हैं।
Malayalam Writer Akbar Kakkattil Passes Away
Renowned Malayalam novelist and story writer Akbar Kakkattil passed away in Kozhikode.
He was 62 years old. Kakkattil was undergoing treatment for a lung-related ailment for a year.
He has 54 books to his credit which includes, four novels, 27 short stories, six collections of essays, seven novelettes, a play, among others.

मलयालम भाषा के प्रसिद्ध उपन्यासकार और लघुकथा लेखक अकबर कक्कात्तील का निधन हो गया। वे 62 साल के थे। उन्होंने 54 पुस्तकें लिखी हैं, जिसमें 4 उपन्यास, 27 लघुकथाएं, निबंधों के 6 संग्रह, 7 लघु उपन्यास और 1 नाटक शामिल हैं।
Andhra Bank launches IMPS for money transfer
आंध्रा बैंक धन हस्तांतरण के लिए आईएमपीएस की शुरूआत की
Andhra Bank has launched Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) at all its branches across the country to provide inter-bank electronic fund transfer service. The customer-friendly service was launched by Andhra Bank in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It also supports real time instant fund transfer system for inter-bank remittances. However the maximum caps of transaction of remittances will 2 lakh rupees and the charges will be at the rate of Rs.5 per transaction.
