Rajasthan Government inks MoU to join UDAY Scheme
Rajasthan Government along with its power distribution companies (DISCOMS) has signed a MoU to join UDAY (Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana) Scheme. State DISCOMS part of this MoU are Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVNL), Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVNL). Key facts With this, Rajasthan became third state to sign the MoU under UDAY scheme after Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

बिजली वितरण कंपनियों (डिस्कॉम) के साथ-साथ राजस्थान सरकार उदय योजना में शामिल होने के लिए एक सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। इस समझौता ज्ञापन के राज्य डिस्कॉम हिस्सा जयपुर विद्युत वितरण निगम लिमिटेड जोधपुर विद्युत वितरण निगम लिमिटेड और अजमेर विद्युत वितरण निगम लिमिटेड कर रहे हैं। इस के साथ प्रमुख तथ्य, राजस्थान झारखंड और छत्तीसगढ़ के बाद समझौता ज्ञापन उदय के तहत इस योजना पर हस्ताक्षर करने के लिए तीसरा राज्य बन गया है।
Which former India basketball captain has passed away – Ranbir Chopra
Ranbir Chopra, captain of the champion Indian basketball team in the first Asian Games in 1951 passed away at the age of 86.
He was the part of Punjab team that won the national title in 1951. In the year 1962, he was also the coach of the Indian team that toured Pakistan.

उन्होंने कहा कि वर्ष 1962 में 1951 में राष्ट्रीय खिताब जीता है कि पंजाब की टीम का हिस्सा था, वह पाकिस्तान का दौरा करने वाली भारतीय टीम के कोच भी था।

Angelique Kerber wins 2016 Australian Open Title of Tennis
Angelique Kerber from Germany has won the 2016 Australian Open Title of Tennis in the women’s singles category. It was her maiden Grand Slam Tennis title. In the final match played at Melbourne, Australia she defeated defending champion Serena Williams (World No. 1) in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 score. With this win, Kerber became the first German women tennis player to win a major Grand Slam Tennis title since Steffi Graf in 1999.

ISRO’ PSLV-C29 successfully launched 6 Singapore satellites into space
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched 6 satellites of Singapore into Space. The satellites were launched using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C29 from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikotta in Andhra Pradesh.
With the present launch, ISRO has put into orbits 57 foreign satellites belonging to 20 countries successfully. Significantly, the list of countries includes scientifically advanced countries like the USA, the UK, France and Germany among others.
