What is the name of the service launched by ICICI Bank — mVisa
A mobile payment service based on mVisa was launched by ICICI Bank enabling customers to make electronic payments from their smartphones at radio taxi, e-commerce sites, deliveries made at home, traditional stores and utility bills among others.
Key fact of mVisa-
Users of Pockets app can make cashless payments from their Smartphone’s using their debit card by simply scanning a m-Visa quick response (QR) code at a merchant location without swiping the card at an EDC machine.

When was organized the World Sight Day- 8th October
World Sight Day was observed with theme “Eye care for all”. The Day is observed on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment.
In the year 2000, the Sight First Campaign of Lions Club International Foundation initiated this day. WSD is co-ordinate by International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) under the VISION 2020 Global Initiative.

Flautist N. Ramani passes away
Dr. Natesan Ramani passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
He was known for introducing the long flute in Carnatic music and had developed his own inimitable style in the field of flute music especially on Venu flute.
About Dr. Natesan Ramani: Ramani was born 15 October 1934 in Tiruvarur city of Tamil Nadu which is the birthplace of Trinity of Carnatic music.
Awards and Honours: Sangita Kalanidhi title (1996) of the Music Academy, Sangeetha Kalasikhamani award (2007) etc.

डॉ नाटेसान रमानी का चेन्नई, तमिलनाडु में निधन हो गया।
उनको कर्नाटक संगीत में लंबे बांसुरी शुरू करने के लिए जाना जाता था, और उन्होने विशेष रूप से वेणु बांसुरी पर बांसुरी संगीत के क्षेत्र में अपने ही अनोखी शैली विकसित की थी।
डॉ नाटेसान रमानी के बारे में: रमानी तमिलनाडु के तिरुवरुर शहर में 15 अक्टूबर 1934 को पैदा हुए थे

Nobel Peace Prize 2015 was won by – Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet
Four Tunisian civil society groups have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their contribution to the country’s transition from dictatorship to democracy. The Nobel panel described its award to the National Dialogue Quartet on Friday as an “encouragement to the Tunisian people” that showed the value of dialogue in a region riven by conflict.
It comprise of four key organizations in Tunisian civil society. These are:
The Tunisian Human Rights League
The Tunisian Order of Lawyers
The Tunisian General Labour Union
The Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts
‘नेशनल डॉयलाग क्वार्टेट’ को मिला शांति का नोबेल
नागरिक सामाजिक संगठनों के गठबंधन ट्यूनीशिया के नेशनल डॉयलाग क्वार्टेट को वर्ष 2011 में जैस्मिन क्रांति के बाद लोकतंत्र की बहाली की दिशा में उसके योगदान के लिये वर्ष 2015 का शांति का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया जायेगा। आगामी 10 दिसम्बर को ओस्लो में क्वार्टेट को पुरस्कार के रूप में 80 लाख स्वीडिश क्राउन (नौ लाख 72 हजार डॉलर) की राशि प्रदान की जायेगी।
Which scheme has been lauched by Tata Power – LED tube light
India’s largest integrated power company launched LED tube light scheme in Mumbai for its residential consumer. As per the scheme, Tata will provide 5 lights to each household at 525 rupees per piece against market price of 1325rupees.
टाटा पावर ने मुंबई में एलईडी ट्यूब लाइट योजना शुरु की
भारत की सबसे बड़ी एकीकृत बिजली कंपनी टाटा पावर ने अपने आवासीय उपभोक्ता के लिए मुंबई में एलईडी ट्यूब लाइट योजना शुरु की है|
इस योजना का लाभ लेने के लिए उपभोक्ताओं को कंपनी की वेबसाइट या कॉल सेंटर के माध्यम से पंजीकरण कराना होगा| इस योजना के तहत लोगों के घरों में 40 वाट की जगह 22 वाट का टयूबलाइट लगाया जाएगा|
इसके लिए लोगों से प्रति 5 टयूबलाइट मात्र 525 रुपए लिए जाएंगे जबकि बाजार में इसके लिए सामान्यत: 1325 रुपए लिए जाते हैं|

Who has been appointed as Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission- Shekhar Basu
किसको परमाणु ऊर्जा कमिशन का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है- शेखर बसु
Renowned scientist Shekhar Basu has been appointed as the Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of Department of Atomic Energy.
He will replace R K Sinha who superannuates on 23 October 2015. He will have tenure till September 19, 2016 i.e. till he attains the age of 64 years. Prior to this appointment Mr. Basu was Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Chief executive of the Nuclear Recycle Board (NRB).
World Post Day observed worldwide on – 9th October

World Post Day was observed worldwide with the theme Posts claim their place in the changing communication landscape. The day is observed to mark the date of establishment of Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874 in Bern, Switzerland.
The UPU was the start of global communications revolution, allowing people could write to others all over the world.
